Each client’s goals and situation are unique. For this reason, I suggest starting with a 20-minute phone consultation at no cost. We'll talk about what issues or goals you have, how my work might help, and whether you'd like to schedule.
You’re also welcome to skip the phone consultation and go ahead and schedule an introductory session. At this session, we’ll review your goals, health history, perform assessments, and develop a treatment plan.
If paying with insurance, please contact me to verify benefits before scheduling.
Consultation at my studio or by phone:
Free (20 min)
Introductory session w/consultation + assessment:
$300/$140 if paid at time of service (90 min)
For most clients, a 90 minute session is a good place to start. From there, we can see whether it makes sense to adjust the session length moving forward. Some people just need less work, or have time or budget constraints that make 75 minute sessions a better option. During your introductory session, I’ll help you choose an option that works for you.
$300/$140 at time of service (90 min)
$250/$120 at time of service (75 min)
I’m now billing most major health insurance as an out-of-network provider. Please start by contacting me to verify your coverage.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
If you have been in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) in Oregon either as a pedestrian, driver, passenger or bicyclist, you are legally entitled to receive medical care. In the state of Oregon, Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance pays medical bills resulting from an MVA. State law mandates at least $15,000 in PIP coverage for you and each of your vehicle passengers for a period of one year after a collision, no matter who was at fault. The law also allows you to seek care from the licensed health care practitioners of your choice.
I do all the billing for you. Please contact me so that I can verify your coverage.
I’m able to bill for workers’ compensation claims. Please contact me so that I can verify your coverage.
If you miss an appointment, cancel, or reschedule within 48 hours, then time of service rates no longer apply and you will be billed at a rate of $50/15-minute unit.
What to expect
At the start of each session, I check in about how you are feeling and what you have noticed since the previous session. Then I begin a structural analysis where I look at posture and movement patterns, assess functions, and observe changes session-by-session. This information is used to see how your body is functioning effectively and where there could be more ease. From there, you will transition to a therapy table where the hands-on work will take place.
I'll apply gentle, specific hands-on techniques and sometimes ask you to perform movements that make the techniques more effective. I'll check in with you to make sure the pressure is ok, but always feel free to speak up and let me know. Occasionally, I'll ask you to stand up, move around, and notice any changes you might experience in your body before returning to the table. About 10 minutes before the end of your allotted time, I'll step out of the room while you dress, then we'll handle payment and scheduling.
For many people, the changes felt during a session are instant. For others, changes emerge over the course of a few days.
What to wear
If you have breasts, they need to be covered—something two-piece, like a bathing suit or bra and underwear, will typically suffice. From the waist down, underwear or close-fitting shorts are fine. It generally helps if your clothing allows easy access to the skin of your upper legs and back, but you are always welcome to wear more clothing if you prefer. Your comfort and dignity are most important.
My office is well-heated and well-ventilated, and I am always willing to make adjustments for you. I can also cover you with a sheet or blanket while we work.
Please avoid fragrances, as they can linger and irritate others.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends. Everyone has their own goals, and most people are initially unsure of how SI can help them. I suggest starting by contacting me for a free consultation. If you choose to do the consultation at my studio, you may want to schedule a short sample session afterward, to get a feel for the work and see if it’s a fit.
I offer a variety of sessions lengths at different price points to meet individual needs. After your consultation and initial experience of the work, I’ll help you find an approach suited to your needs.
How much time should I schedule between sessions?
It depends on your goals, availability, budget, and how much time your body needs to process in between sessions. If you’re looking to recover from chronic pain, it’s usually better to schedule more frequently at first (weekly, if possible), then taper off. If you’re going through a full SI series, it’s good to have more continuity for certain parts of the series. When we meet, we'll figure something out that works for your unique goals and circumstances.
How should I prepare for my session?
After you schedule, look for the confirmation email and follow the link to complete the online intake form.
Also, please be sure to review the logistical details in that confirmation email to ensure that your first visit goes as smoothly as possible.
Finally, if you haven’t already reviewed my page about SI, many people find it helpful to get an idea of what this work is about. Even if you’ve worked with another SI practitioner before, you may find it useful to hear another perspective.
